Public Documents on Denmark Water Now Available at Two Locations

DENMARK, SC, December 5, 2019 – Denmark citizens concerned about the quality of the city’s water supply now have two new places to review state monitoring reports.  The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has opened public document areas at the Bamberg County Health Department and the Denmark Public Library.

Opening of the public document areas follows launch of a new website,, which contains information about plans to modernize the aging water system, including state and federal grants that were awarded recently for system upgrades.

“The city requested that DHEC information about the Denmark water system be made available to our residents in paper form,” Heyward Robinson, City Administrator, said.  “Not everyone has access to the internet, so the paper documents at these two locations will make it easier for residents to get the information they desire.”

Documents for review include recent DHEC sampling reports that show the city’s drinking water currently meets the requirements of the EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act and the State Primary Drinking Water Regulations.

The Health Department is located at 370 Log Branch Road in Bamberg.  The Denmark Public Library is located at 5122 Carolina Highway in Denmark.  The Health Department is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The Denmark Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Friday.
